Good day lovely jazz fans. It is September. September.
*Last Thursday night at Stayner’s was awash with festival folks. The Coordinators from many of the crews set themselves down at our favourite watering hole. We went to listen to JazzEast Boardman Dustin Lindensmith’s quartet, Two by Two. Jeff Torbert was there in support and I am sure there were many other jazzmen, but I did not see them from the corner where many of us were catching up. I think we are getting our groove back.

02. HARRY MANX – ONE NIGHT SOLO PERFORMANCE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fans of Harry Manx are really nice. One fellow, Derek McElmon, sent me tracks of Manx singing The Band’s “It Makes No Difference” and his own “Make Way for the Living.” I figured you might want to know about them, too (since we are all music lovers despite what our business cards say).
Here are the links:

HARRY MANX
blues / folk / world
"Mysticssippi" blues man Harry Manx has been called an "essential link" between the music of East and West, creating musical short stories that wed the tradition of the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas. He has created a unique sound that is hard to forget and deliciously addictive to listen to. Blending Indian folk melodies with blues, a sprinkle of gospel, and compelling grooves, Manx's "mysticssippi" flavour is hard to resist, easy to digest and keeps audiences coming back for more.
