Good day lovely jazz fans.
*New provincial minister for us culture folks in Nova Scotia – Percy Paris has been given the Tourism, Culture and Heritage portfolio along with Economic and Rural Development and African Nova Scotian Affairs. I looked on his website (www.percyparis.ca); there is no reference to music or artistic interests, but we will see.
*If you have a friend who says s/he is not receiving Jazz In Halifax, it may be due to her or his work settings. Spread the word.

23RD TD CANADA TRUST ATLANTIC JAZZ FESTIVAL
July 10-18, 2009
*Friends, incredible music and a chance to make a difference – This is what you get as a VOLUNTEER for the JazzFest. With more venues this year, we need more people. If you are thinking about helping out, please REGISTER NOW (the form is on-line at www.atlanticjazzfestival.ca) and do not wait. We want Volunteer Coordinator Phil to keep his stress at a healthy level.
*Festival Guides are here! A bunch hit the streets of downtown Halifax on Friday, but we need help to get these beautiful booklets to more locations. Send me a note or call me at 492-0820 if you want to help.
*Greg Guy is doing a fantastic job getting the media people excited about the musicians coming to the festival. I’ll tell you when articles or interviews are scheduled. Their take on the music and musician will be interesting to read!
*CKDU and Lulu – Tonight you can listen to our incredible Artistic Director speak about the music at the festival on Lamont McLachlan’s ‘Dark End of the Street’ radio show. The show runs from 9 – 10:30 PM on 88.1 FM, CKDU. I highly recommend you listen. She plans to bring lots and lots of music.
*NEW look for the website! Our website team has delivered a super fine look & fancy functionality to atlanticjazzfestival.ca. Now, you can filter the concert schedule to display only the shows for one day; the navigation bar on the left is easier to read and understand; and there’s a twitter display. We hope you like it (and use it).
